The bias in Western media stands out once again as the article by HonestReporting shows.
The major problem in the Middle East is an anti-Israel ideology that drives the Muslim world - some more forceful than others. As long as Israel is not fully recognised as a Jewish state and as long as this anti-Semitic ideology seeks to destroy Israel and the Jewish people, there can be no peace - this, however, is not Israel's fault. Granted, Israeli policies have at times given legitimacy to Arab grievances, but not as the Western media wants us to believe. The Palestinian refugee problem was not caused by Israel, but by the Arab countries attacking Israel in 1948, while calling on all Arabs to leave the territory - temporarily... ever since, these poor people are stuck between the Muslim leadership that seeks - in one way or another - to anihilate Israel and between an Israeli people and leadership that is determined to fight for its survival. The Palestinian refugees and civilians are not primarily the victims of Israeli 'occupation,' but of Arab misuse of its civil society - including women and children.
Mutual recognition, a willingness to share despite differences, and genuine reconciliation is the only way to peace in the Middle East.
Shalom,
Gordon

Facts, Viewpoint, and Balance
It all depends where you point your camera, what facts you state, and which ones you omit. While many in Europe are angry at Israel for their so-called 'crimes against humanity,' most people lack sufficient background information to form an objective and fair opinion. Hence, it all depends on where you point the camera, which facts you allow to speak, and which facts one denies - and why!? HonestReporting.com, for example, is concerned with setting right the distortion of facts in the Middle East in particular. This article gives you a good example of the bias of the Western media.
When one remembers 'The Pope in the Holy Land' Tour, this article sheds important background information - and omitted facts - on some of the statements and events.
All Israel critics who only listen to the BBC, should also read haaretz.com to get facts, figures, and background information right so often omitted or denied by the Western media. We need to have a more balanced approach, and we certainly need to allow ALL facts to speak before we pass judgement.
Shalom,
Gordon
